Some local TV stations are beginning to encrypt their ATSC 3.0 broadcast signals with DRM. Broadcasters claim it's needed to prevent piracy but it can't be decoded by the only two external tuners on the market available for purchase. It also opens the door to restrictions on network tuners and DVRs.
