Yash Raj Films has reportedly rejected a massive ₹215 crore OTT offer from Netflix for their upcoming spy thriller Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt, Sharvari Wagh, and Bobby Deol.
Despite strong rumours of a direct OTT release, the studio has made it clear that Alpha will release in theatres worldwide. Directed by Shiv Rawail, the film is a major tentpole project in the expanding YRF Spy Universe.
According to reports from Variety India, YRF turned down the lucrative streaming deal to preserve the cinematic experience and box office potential. This decision also comes amid discussions following the response to War 2.
Alpha is expected to be one of the biggest female-led action films in Bollywood history, marking Alia Bhatt’s entry into the spy universe with high-octane action, scale, and global appeal.
